Meet our 2017 Green Gala Conservation Award Winner Tim Moloney

David Miller, November 3, 2017

We are so very pleased to introduce this year’s Conservation Hero Award winner, Tim Moloney. Each year, the Ohio Environmental Council hands out awards at the Green Gala. We couldn’t be happier to celebrate Tim’s accomplishments in Central Ohio conservation!

As a lifelong Columbus resident who has worked in parks and recreation for more than 20 years, Tim’s devotion to improving the region is commendable. In 2014 he was named executive director for the Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks, a position that he referred to as ‘a bucket list job.’ He previously served the cities of Upper Arlington, Westerville, and Columbus in their respective park systems. It is clear that he is working to take the parks system to new heights.

Under Tim’s leadership, the already-strong Columbus metroparks system acquired thousands of acres of new land, resulting in the largest expansion of park land since the system’s creation. He has been a great partner to the OEC as we work to protect land in Central Ohio. More importantly, his dedication to the preservation of natural areas for public good has benefitted countless Ohioans, and will continue to do so for years to come.

The OEC offers congratulations and thanks for everything Tim does to improve the parks for folks living in Central Ohio. We are indebted to his service!
