Nathan Johnson, an attorney with the Ohio Environmental Council, said he will continue to lodge formal protests with the BLM to assure the state's only national forest remains protected.
"This new sale announcement shows BLM is serious about leasing everything left in this part of the forest," Johnson said. "The BLM doesn't have the legal footing to push this leasing forward, and the OEC will appeal this sale just as we appealed BLM's first sale. We will fight to make sure the Wayne is protected for current and future generations." Protests against the March 23 auction are due by Feb. 13.
