Funding for Freshwater Wind Project Show’s Ohio Ready to be Leader in Clean Energy

COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Environmental Council released the following statement today after the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced it will award the Lake Erie Energy Development Company (LEEDCo) up to $50 million to build North America’s first offshore freshwater wind energy project.

“This investment is a game changer that shows that Ohio is ready to lead on clean energy. The LEEDCo project will harness Ohio’s clean energy prowess and energize our economy while producing clean, renewable energy.”
