The OEC Applauds Actions from the Ohio Attorney General to Protect Drinking Water in Youngstown

David Miller, December 6, 2017

Columbus, OH — Yesterday, Attorney General Mike DeWine announced a guilty plea from Anthony Vigorito, a former water-operator who issued invalid training certificates to Youngstown Water Department employees. This quote can be attributed in full, or in part, to Sarah Spence, Director of Government Affairs at the Ohio Environmental Council:

“Ohioans should have confidence that the tap water they are drinking is safe, and the staff of our water treatment plants are properly trained. Youngstown residents can rest easier knowing that this fraudulent operator will no longer be certified to train others. We thank Attorney General DeWine’s Environmental Enforcement Section, and the Ohio EPA, for handling this case in a diligent manner.”
