Ohio Environmental Council, July 22, 2015
We’ve just completed a months-long, nationwide search for our next executive director. And today, we’re happy to announce that we’ve found her!
Heather Taylor-Miesle, an Ohio native, is excited to move back home and bring her experience as director of the NRDC Action Fund to strengthen Ohio’s environmental movement. She has more than 18 years of experience advocating for greater environmental and public heath protections, and working with our nation’s top decision-makers to bring environmental issues into the political spotlight.
As the leader of the NRDC Action Fund, she’s grown the organization from a mere concept into an environmental powerhouse in national politics. Prior to this role, she served as the NRDC’s deputy legislative director and held key aide positions on Capitol Hill.
Heather believes that Ohio is critical in finding solutions to our nation and world’s toughest environmental challenges. She’s decided to invest her skills and talents here, because she cares deeply for her home state. She also knows we can, and must, be a leader if the US is to have any chance of correcting course on climate change and other critical environmental issues.
Heather has the experience, leadership, and relationships we need to become even more effective environmental advocates. We are thrilled to start this new chapter with all of you and Ohio’s environmental-conservation family.
Heather will be relocating to Ohio from California in September. Stay tuned for opportunities to meet her in the near future!
