COLUMBUS, OHIO – This year’s Ohio Public Interest Environmental Law Conference: Protecting the Spaces and Places of Ohio’s Environment will explore some of the most significant issues facing Ohio’s environment. The agenda will cover issues ranging from Darby Creek and agrivoltaics to the role of judges in environmental law and the fight against fossil fuels in Ohio’s parks.
“We’re truly excited to bring together both our speakers and our audience to explore some of the most pressing issues facing Ohio’s environment this year,” said Chris Tavenor, general counsel for the Ohio Environmental Council. “Whether it’s collective fights against the fossil fuel industry assaulting our natural areas to exploring the creative solutions we need to protect against environmental emergencies–there’s a topic for everyone.”
Tavenor believes what’s most important is for attorneys, academics, and the next generation of environmentalists to learn and make connections with other advocates from across the state, strengthening our movement, relationships, and the impact of this work.
The conference brings together lawyers, legal scholars, and environmental advocates throughout Ohio. Continuing legal education credits are available for practicing attorneys and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
