Brian D. Siggers joins OEC as Cleveland Metro Advocacy Director

Cleveland, OH — The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) is pleased to welcome Brian D. Siggers as the organization’s new Cleveland Metro Advocacy Director.

“The Ohio Environmental Council has a track record of convening environmental champions and advocating for policy to create a greener and healthier Ohio. I’m looking forward to working with this dynamic organization, community partners, Cleveland City Council, and Mayor Bibb’s administration to effectuate change in our community and advance environmental justice,” said Siggers. “Together we can work to secure a healthier environment for all Cleveland residents.”

In his new role, Siggers will work with community partners to advance the Cleveland Comprehensive Environmental Policy Platform. The platform details actionable objectives and locally-designed policy recommendations for issues including: environmental justice, water, land and green space, infrastructure and transportation, as well as energy and air quality. 

Siggers joins the OEC after years of experience in political consulting, with extensive work on political campaigns at the local, state and federal levels. His background is in grassroots organizing and advocacy, where he has helped increase voter education, turnout, and participation. Siggers is a proud graduate of Ohio University where he earned his degree in Political Science. He is president of the Northeast Ohio Young Black Democrats and is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, the 100 Black Men of Greater Cleveland, and the NAACP of Cleveland.
