Columbus, OH — Today, directors from the Ohio Department of Agriculture, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Ohio EPA, and the Ohio Lake Erie Commission provided an update on Governor DeWine’s H2Ohio program and its accomplishments to date. The directors also previewed what to expect in the second year of H2Ohio work.
In response, the following quote can be attributed to Pete Bucher, Managing Director of Water Policy with the Ohio Environmental Council:
“All Ohioans deserve access to clean and safe water, from source to tap. We commend Governor DeWine and his administration for championing the H2Ohio program and prioritizing water quality investments in Ohio. These programs provide direct funding to reduce pollution in our waterways and help communities across Ohio afford the necessary upgrades to provide residents safe and affordable drinking water. To achieve continued success, including Ohio’s commitment to reduce Lake Erie phosphorus loading by 40 percent, we will need sustained and increased investments in H2Ohio going forward.”

“We applaud today’s announcement of progress being made with the H2Ohio program via enrollment and adoption of best management practices.
