Statement From The Ohio Environmental Council On The Announcement Of A Major Ohio Wind Project Partnership By Starwood Energy Group And General Motors

David Miller, September 19, 2017

Columbus, OH — The following statement can be attributed in full, or in part, to Trish Demeter, Vice President of Policy at the Ohio Environmental Council:

“The OEC applauds the announcement today of a new, large-scale wind project in Van Wert and Paulding counties, operating under a partnership between Starwood Energy Group and General Motors. This project proves that renewable energy is mainstream and becoming standard fare for well-established companies like GM.

“Ohio lawmakers should acknowledge this unstoppable trend, and ensure our state policies attract this kind of investment to Ohio. This is the last grandfathered project capable of moving forward under Ohio’s current laws. If we don’t see, and act, on this opportunity, Ohio will be left in the dust in the clean energy era.”
