As the Vice President of Policy for Natural Resources, Kristy Meyer directs OEC’s campaigns and initiatives to protect and restore Ohio’s rivers, streams, and lakes and secure stronger protections for drinking water and public lands. Kristy is an expert on water issues and has led and co-led critical work that transformed the ability of the Lake Erie region to respond to its most significant challenges. She builds strong relationships with private businesses, decision makers, hunters, anglers, community leaders, and environmental-conservation partners to secure stronger protections for Ohio’s rivers, streams, and lakes. Kristy has a B.S. in Environmental Biology and Business Administration from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio. She earned a M.S. from James Cook University in Queensland, Australia, where she worked with Aboriginals on Natural Resource Management Issues and formed a “Greening Strategy” for all of Northern Australia, including Papua New Guinea.
