INTERNSHIP POSTING: Communications & Content Creation Intern 

Time Commitment: 20-30 hours per week

Start Date: June 6, 2022 for 10 weeks

Location Columbus or Cleveland based, travel throughout the state of Ohio required.

The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) seeks a summer intern to join our Public Affairs Team to support our communications and field advocacy efforts through content creation. This internship will provide opportunities for building a photography and videography portfolio, building contacts across the state of Ohio, and understanding environmental issues from a local lens.

Responsibilities  

  • Create a portfolio of photographs and videos highlighting OEC’s advocacy work, including regional work and events. This will require traveling to each of the regions OEC has staff in Northeast Ohio (Cleveland and Youngstown), Northwest Ohio (Toledo), Southeast Ohio, Southwest Ohio (Cincinnati), and Central Ohio. 
  • Meet OEC staff and local partners (when appropriate) in each region.
  • Organize digital archives of OEC’s already existing library of photographs and videos with a willingness to learn new media platforms. 
  • Support organizational communications as needed.
  • Participate in 2022 OEC intern cohort activities.

Compensation

This internship is a paid seasonal position and will receive an hourly wage of $13 for 20 – 30 hours a week.

Qualifications 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced photography and videography skills (the OEC has a DSLR camera available for use) 
  • Able to work independently and on a team
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills are highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Google Suite
  • Ability and willingness to travel across Ohio with members of the OEC team
