Communications Intern

Supervisor:   Director of Communications

Time Commitment: 20 hours minimum per week

Schedule: flexible over 10-12 weeks, summer 2018

Location:   Columbus, Ohio

Responsibilities  

• Assist the communications team in drafting outward-facing documents, including opinion pieces, blog articles, and social media postings
• Monitor news publications for clips and other press hits to keep staff informed about environmental news
• Work with the communications director on back-end record-keeping
• Assist with press events as needed

This internship is a volunteer, unpaid position.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Self-motivated and flexible 
• Strong editing and proofreading skills are highly desirable
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite
