Development Research Intern

Time Commitment: Flexible, 15-20 hours per week

Schedule: Flexible over 10-12 weeks, Fall 2018

Location:   Columbus, Ohio (Remote availability with periodic visits to the Columbus office considered)

Today’s political and cultural landscape presents unique, timely opportunities for promoting environmental solutions. Help make these solutions a reality by identifying new opportunities for the OEC to find supporters of our mission. By growing our donor base, the OEC will continue to build resources to make an impact on Ohio’s environment!

Responsibilities  

The OEC is seeking a detail-oriented volunteer intern with great communication skills to assist with fundraising efforts. Tasks may include:

  • Research donor prospects
  • Create detailed research reports
  • Assist in the creation of a research process
  • Update and maintain Salsa CRM database

The intern will have opportunities to be part of a nonprofit advocacy organization, attend staff meetings, gain exposure to environmental policy-making, and get to know the staff.

This internship is a volunteer, unpaid position.

Qualifications

  • Interest in learning about nonprofits, development, and environmental issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated and flexible 
  • Strong editing and data management skills are highly desirable
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite
