Ohio Environmental Council, September 30, 2021
Background
A coalition of clean energy advocates in Ohio launched the Power a Clean Future Ohio campaign in February of 2020 to provide the foundation for cities and local governments to take ambitious action on carbon reduction. In the wake of statewide action eliminating Ohio’s renewable energy and energy efficiency standards, it was time to “go local” in Ohio and capitalize on the growing frustration felt by local leaders and elected officials and their energy to take action on climate change and clean energy solutions. To date, 18 cities have become PCFO Communities, and the campaign has a goal of reaching 30 communities by the end of 2021. Northeast Ohio is a strong focus of the PCFO campaign’s recruitment.
Description
Power a Clean Future Ohio seeks a contractor to engage directly with communities in Northeast Ohio to recruit them to join PCFO and pursue impactful local clean energy policy. This role will require developing collaborative, working relationships with elected officials, government staff, and community organizations across a variety of Northeast Ohio communities. This individual will also be responsible for managing the ongoing coalition engagement with NE Ohio communities that have joined PCFO. This individual will report to PCFO’s Executive Director and will work closely with the PCFO coalition of organizations and have access to the shared resources of the
coalition. This scope of work is expected to be completed over one year.
