Program Coordinator Intern (Green Columbus)

Green Columbus is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable living in Central Ohio and globally.

Position Description

Under the supervision of the Executive Director and working with the Earth Day Coordinator, the Program Coordinator Intern will help coordinate various initiatives, including:

  • Preparing for Earth Day 2019 events and activities
  • Researching and assisting with the expansion of Earth Day activities
  • Participating in the Tree Stewards programming and committing to volunteer hours of community service for tree planting and environmental work
  • Assisting with promotion of recycling and developing a recycling program with Green Columbus

The intern should expect to work 8-10 hours per week in early 2019 with hours steadily increasing to 15-20 hours per week closer to the Earth Day 2019 Celebration in late April. Hours will be flexible with many chances to work remotely.

Qualifications:

  • Strong personal commitment to social justice and the environment
  • Strong communication, writing, and research skills
  • Strong work ethic, dependable, very detail oriented, well organized
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team

Deadline to apply is Friday, November 16. Position will begin in early January.

This is an unpaid internship. Academic credit for the internship may be available with permission from your academic unit.
