For 28 years Tom served as head of the Ohio EPA Southwest District Office, overseeing programs in Air Pollution, Water Pollution, Solid and Hazardous Waste and Drinking Water. He represented the State of Ohio and was a leader at the national level in efforts to achieve cleanup of contaminated federal sites owned by the US Department of Energy and the US Department of Defense. Earlier in his career at Ohio EPA he was an engineer in multiple programs including Water Pollution, Solid Waste, Hazardous Waste and Air Pollution. After retiring he served as a consultant providing expert technical and regulatory advice on the cleanup of mixed radioactive and hazardous tank waste at the nation’s largest environmental cleanup, the Hanford Nuclear Reservation in Washington State. Tom was born and raised in southwest Ohio and is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering (Mechanical and Environmental Engineering).
