COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Environmental Council released the following statement today after the Ohio Senate passed House Bill (HB) 512. The bill makes Ohio a national leader in protecting people from the risks of lead exposure from water. The bill now moves to Governor Kasich who is expected to sign it into law.
“This bill is the most significant effort in the country to detect and eliminate lead contamination in our drinking water. We applaud the Ohio legislature, the Ohio EPA, and Governor Kasich for their leadership on this essential legislation that ensures Ohio’s children, families, and communities have access to safer drinking water.”
