Columbus, Ohio — The following statement can be attributed in full, or in part, to Heather Taylor-Miesle, Executive Director of the Ohio Environmental Council:
“Ryan Zinke’s ouster at the Department of the Interior comes nearly two years too late. Zinke has shrunk national monuments, opened our national coasts to oil and gas drilling, and fought to begin drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Zinke’s record is that of supporting oil and gas developers over clean air, land, and water”
“As the search begins for Zinke’s replacement, I’m hopeful the next Interior Secretary cares first and foremost for the health of all Ohioans, not the bottom lines of fossil fuel companies.”
