Legal Interns

Hours per Week: 20 hours minimum per week

Schedule: flexible over 10-12 weeks, summer 2018

Location:   Columbus, Ohio

Responsibilities  

Summer legal interns at the Ohio Environmental Council will assist the organization’s Law Center with its numerous projects. Potential work product could include the following activities:

  • Research legal questions that assist the Natural Resources and Energy teams in their policy advocacy work
  • Assist the General Counsel and Law Fellow in drafting comments regarding proposed Ohio EPA Rulemakings
  • Write memos analyzing important issues in 501(c)(3) nonprofit law, elections law, and voter protection
  • Explore complex environmental legal questions that further the OEC’s mission

This internship is a volunteer, unpaid position.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled at an ABA accredited law school
  • Strong passion for public interest environmental law
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated and flexible 
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills are highly desirable
