Join The Nature Conservancy for a celebration of preservation successes at Hopewell Culture National Historical Park! Learn about the partnerships and programs—like the Land and Water Conservation Fund—that helped save world-class cultural resources in the Park. Hear from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, The Archaeological Conservancy, Heritage Ohio, Ohio History Connection, World Heritage Ohio, and The Nature Conservancy. A light lunch will be provided.
Stick around for a hike led by National Park Service Archaeologist, Dr. Bret Ruby, to the Hopeton Earthworks site, which was saved using the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Parking is limited at the trailhead, so please RSVP so we can arrange shuttles and carpools from the Visitor Center if necessary. The easy hike (less than 2 miles round trip) will start at approximately 12:30 pm and last about 2 hours.
Please RSVP to Janelle DiLuccia at JDiLuccia@savingplaces.org or (202) 588-6140. This event is open to the public.
