Intern Spotlight – Hannah Zoldesy

Ohio Environmental Council, July 19, 2022

There are many aspects of college that can seem daunting, from having to pick the perfect roommate to navigating a brand-new space. However, one aspect usually stands above the rest: selecting the major you’re willing to dedicate your time and energy to, perhaps for the rest of your professional life. I knew I loved the drive and passion of the nonprofit sector, but what role I wanted to play within the sector was still up in the air.

By the time I completed my BA in Public Affairs at The Ohio State University, I had developed a strong interest in philanthropy and its importance in advancing an organization. After gaining experience in fundraising and donor stewardship through my internships with Health Giving and Ohio Animal Advocates, I knew this was the route I wanted to pursue. I am now working towards my Master’s in Public Administration, once again at The Ohio State University, where I am able to tailor my studies to focus on donor management and how to produce the most robust philanthropic results. I am beyond excited to learn from the phenomenal development team here at the Ohio Environmental Council and to build upon my knowledge gained from my courses and previous experiences.

The mission of the Ohio Environmental Council is one that I am proud to help advance. I have always had a love for the outdoors and a passion for ensuring its preservation. I have attended numerous marches for climate change and environment-related legislation, so it’s thrilling to be on the inside of an organization fighting to make those changes. I have already met so many inspiring people here at the OEC, and I’ve enjoyed working alongside them this summer to fight for a clean and beautiful Ohio!
