Columbus, Ohio — The following statement can be attributed to Heather Taylor-Miesle, Executive Director of the Ohio Environmental Council:

“I congratulate Mary Mertz on her selection as the next director of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in the DeWine Administration. This critical role is entrusted with the health of our state’s public lands, wildlife areas, forests and waterways, and is essential to protecting Ohio’s natural legacy and future.

“The OEC looks forward to working with Director Mertz, as we both advance efforts for healthier air, land, and water for all who call Ohio home.”
