In 1983, the OEC was a part of the push for a program that allowed Ohioans to donate millions of dollars to support state nature preserves and scenic rivers with tax donations. This Wildlife Diversity Fund still exists today and helps protect hundreds of Ohio’s natural gems like the Scioto River (pictured below). Keep this in mind when you’re filing your taxes this year!
