Trish Demeter currently serves as OEC’s Interim Executive Director.
She previously served as Chief of Staff, where she coordinated and supported the OEC’s policy advocacy efforts, government relations, and legal strategies to advance the organization’s goals on energy, land and water issues. Additionally, Trish co-led the organizations’ strategic plan development and tracking its implementation. Before taking on her Chief of Staff role, Trish served as the OEC’s Vice President for Energy Policy for five years, spearheading the organization’s efforts to reduce carbon pollution from the electric sector, curb methane pollution from oil and gas operations, and promote clean energy solutions across the state.
Prior to joining the OEC team in 2011, Trish served as the legislative liaison for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and as a policy aide in the Ohio Senate for Environment, Agriculture, Transportation and Health Committees. In addition to her policy advocacy and government affairs experience, Trish worked for as a field consultant on political campaigns, and as a grassroots environmental advocate for a number of years. Trish is a graduate of Wittenberg University, and is a proud lifelong resident of the Buckeye State.
