COLUMBUS, OH – The Ohio Environmental Council released the following statement today after the Ohio House of Representatives passed House Bill (HB) 512. The bill makes Ohio a national leader in protecting people from the risks of lead exposure from water. The Ohio Senate must now act swiftly to pass HB 512 before they break for summer recess.
“This bill is the most significant effort in the country to address lead contamination in our drinking water. We applaud the Ohio House, the Ohio EPA, and Governor Kasich for their leadership on this essential legislation.
