Chagrin River Partners and Ohio Environmental Council Celebrate Restoration Site Success with Elected Officials
Columbus, OH – This week, Chagrin River Partners and the Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) hosted local, state, and federal officials for a boat tour of a completed Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Lake Erie site. This site tour was made possible by the impacts of H2Ohio and Clean Ohio, programs that continually advance protections for Lake Erie.
Thank you to State Representative Dan Troy, Congressman Dave Joyce, Willoughby Mayor Robert Fiala, and Eastlake City Councilmembers Jason Kasunick and Todd Gulley for joining us.
“We’re grateful to the elected officials who joined us on Lake Erie to see the restoration in action,” said Emily Arthur, Agriculture and Water Manager for the OEC. “H2Ohio and Clean Ohio projects are rebuilding coastal habitat, improving water quality, and strengthening community resilience. We had productive conversations on the water about other key funding sources like Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI), and we’re seeing real momentum for continued investment in this work.”
