Ohio Environmental Council applauds further H2Ohio funding for the Ohio EPA
Columbus, OH — Today, the Ohio Legislative Controlling Board approved an additional $8.675 million in H2Ohio funding for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. This funding will allow the agency to continue its work within the H2Ohio program for the remainder of fiscal year 2021. The primary focus of the agency’s continued H2Ohio work will include implementing drinking water and wastewater infrastructure improvement projects, replacement of failed home sewage treatment systems, and removal of lead service lines.
In response, the following quote can be attributed to Pete Bucher, Managing Director of Water Policy with the Ohio Environmental Council:
“We commend Governor DeWine and his administration for prioritizing water quality investments in Ohio through the comprehensive H2Ohio program. All Ohioans deserve access to safe and clean water, from source to tap. In a time when access to clean water is more important than ever, this continued work will help ensure that no Ohioan has to worry about whether or not they can trust their drinking water.”
