OEC Comment on the Possible Eastern Hellbender Federal Endangered Listing
At up to 2 feet in length and 5 pounds in weight, the Eastern Hellbender is North America’s largest amphibian. Tragically, the Hellbender is in even bigger trouble. Once abundant throughout Appalachia and much of the Midwest, this iconic species is now close to disappearing completely.
