The Public Voice in Administrative Law
How much do you think your opinion matters? What about 15,000 opinions?
In the administrative law world, there are many opportunities for members of the public to share their views and opinions about an issue with public officials. But how those officials receive, process, and weigh those opinions is equally important as voicing them in the first place.
The 2025 Ohio Environmental Law Conference is facilitating a discussion about the power of public commentary in administrative law. Expressing your opinion supports democracy, but how much weight do we give to public opinion?
A panel of law professors and elected representatives will explore different ways of creating an equitable debate and how to weigh the resulting viewpoints. This discussion will examine how officials can manage high-profile matters and the resulting public input. Panelists will discuss their personal and professional experiences on the issue of public commentary to investigate ways in which the public can make their views more impactful on policy outcomes.
Want to learn about public commentary and how you can use the power of your voice in governmental decisions? Join us at the 2025 Ohio Environmental Law Conference on September 26th!
